Open Browseroo, and it will offer to set itself as the default browser — or go to System Settings → Desktop & Dock → Default web browser and pick Browseroo. From then on it routes every link by your rules.
How does the free trial work?
Every feature is unlocked for 15 days from first launch — no account or card needed. When the trial ends, unlock Pro with a one-time in-app purchase.
I bought Pro on another Mac. How do I restore it?
Purchases are tied to your App Store account. On the new Mac, open Browseroo's settings and choose “Restore Purchase” while signed in to the same Apple ID.
A link opened in the wrong browser. What's happening?
Rules run top to bottom and the first match wins. Check the rule order in the menu bar popover — a broad rule above a specific one will catch links first. Drag rules to reorder them.
Location rules aren’t matching.
Make sure Browseroo has location permission in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services, and that the rule's radius covers where you actually are.
Which browsers does Browseroo work with?
Any browser installed on your Mac — Safari, Google Chrome, Firefox, Arc, Microsoft Edge, Brave, Vivaldi, Opera, and more, including separate Chrome or Edge profiles. Point a rule at a browser and matching links open there automatically.
Can I open work links in Chrome and personal links in Safari?
Yes — that's exactly what Browseroo is for. Create a rule so links from work domains open in Chrome and everything else opens in Safari. You can also switch behaviour by Focus mode or location, so the same link opens in Chrome at work but Safari at home.
How do I set a different default browser per website or app on Mac?
macOS only lets you pick one system-wide default browser. Browseroo sits in front of it: it becomes the default handler, then routes each link to a browser based on the website's domain (and, if you like, the app the link came from, your Focus mode, or your location).
How is Browseroo different from Finicky, Choosy, Velja, OpenIn, or Bumpr?
They're all browser-routing utilities, but Browseroo is a native SwiftUI/AppKit menu bar app built specifically for macOS 14+, with rules that can combine domain matching, macOS Focus mode, and location — not just the URL. It's a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and there are no config files to hand-edit.
